Lumineers for Teeth Whitening Options

In the past, veneers were the only choice for people whose only option for teeth whitening was to have a veneer applied to their teeth. This method of teeth whitening requires anesthesia and some preparation being done to the teeth that could at times be painful, or at the very least quite uncomfortable.

Now that lumineers are available, you can have your teeth coated with a super white porcelain without any local anesthesia and virtually no pain or discomfort and still have the same bright white results. Because lumineers are so much thinner than conventional porcelain, they don’t require that your teeth be ground down at all as is required with standard porcelain covers.

Another plus side of lamaneers, is that they have been shown to last longer and resist cracking and leaking that has always been a problem with conventional dental veneers. They also cost less which is another thing that makes this new technology in cosmetic dentistry a far better choice. Your dentist can do more for your smile with lumineers than just whiten your teeth, because they can also be used to close up gaps in your front teeth as well as adjust the alignment so they look straighter.

Tooth veneers can leave you with a bulky feeling and apearance to your teeth, but with lumineers this effect is greatly reduced, because they are so much thinner than standard porcelain veneers. Lumineers also color blend so much better than the thicker veneers, because with thicker veneers colors are more abrupt due to their inherent thickness. Now more than ever there are so many more options for someone who is not completely happy with the way their smile looks and with these new painless procedures there is just no reason why someone should have a less than perfect smile.
